    The Opportunity

    Florida Gulf Coast University’s (FGCU) Marieb College of Health & Human Services (MCHHS) and the School of Nursing (SON) invite nominations, inquiries, and applications for the Nursing Laboratories/Simulation Director and Assistant Professor position. The Director will report directly to the Assistant Director of the School of Nursing. The Lab/Simulation Director will provide direction related to the technical skills, instruction, and evaluation to support laboratory and simulation activities for the School of Nursing.

     The Lab/Simulation Director will join MCHHS at an exciting time in the college’s history. Architectural planning has already commenced for the new academic building to foster the college's projected growth. Additionally, a renewed focus is on interprofessional education and utilizing emerging technology through a generous philanthropic gift.

    The ideal candidate for this role will be deeply committed to fostering a welcoming and collaborative environment. Coordinate and facilitate simulation and lab-based experiential learning activities and opportunities for students in the School of Nursing. Responsible for assisting faculty in creating, preparing, delivering, and evaluating high-quality laboratory and simulation experiences. Assist in developing simulation scenarios and facilitating simulation experiences. Work with the School of Nursing Administration and faculty to update all simulation-related experiences and curriculum. Teaching credits assigned will vary depending on lab/sim needs (typically six credits or less).
