The Opportunity
Greenwood Asher & Associates is pleased to assist Murray State University in the search for an Interim Director of Human Resources.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced higher education human resources leader to provide immediate leadership, continuity, and support to the University during an important period of transition.
The Interim Director will work collaboratively with University leadership and the Human Resources team to maintain strong day-to-day operations, support employees and campus partners, and help ensure that HR services remain responsive, consistent, and aligned with institutional priorities.
Murray State is seeking an experienced leader who can quickly assess priorities, build trust across the University community, support and guide staff, and bring a thoughtful, service-oriented approach to human resources leadership.
Ideal candidates will bring:
- Significant professional experience in human resources leadership
- Experience supervising and supporting HR professionals and operations
- Strong knowledge of contemporary human resources practices, policies, and compliance
- A collaborative and highly responsive approach to working with faculty, staff, and institutional leadership
- The judgment, flexibility, and interpersonal skills necessary to lead effectively in an interim capacity
- Higher education and/or public-sector experience is strongly preferred
