The Opportunity
The University of Kentucky (UK) is seeking a visionary and collaborative leader to serve as the next Dean of the College of Nursing — a nationally recognized institution that has been at the forefront of innovation in nursing education, research, and practice. With a proud history of pioneering programs—including the nation’s first Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program, ranked in the top 5% nationally, and the state’s first Ph.D. program—the College of Nursing consistently achieves excellence, exemplified by a 98.5% NCLEX pass rate for BSN graduates and more than $36 million in external research funding over the past five years. Students benefit from state-of-the-art facilities, exceptional faculty, strong community engagement, and growing opportunities in areas such as study abroad and the equine industry.
The next dean will join a college poised for continued growth and impact. This is an opportunity to shape the future of nursing education and research at a leading land-grant university. The dean will oversee academic programs, operations, faculty and financial resources, student recruitment, and fundraising, and will work closely with faculty and peers to articulate and implement a shared vision for the college. Candidates should bring distinguished academic credentials, proven administrative experience, and a record of leadership and innovation commensurate with appointment as a tenured professor.
