The Opportunity
Clemson University invites applications and nominations for the position of Executive Secretary to the Board of Trustees — a highly visible and trusted leadership role supporting the governance and strategic stewardship of one of the nation’s leading public research universities.
As a member of Clemson’s Executive Leadership Team, the Executive Secretary serves as the primary liaison between the Board of Trustees, the President, and senior university leadership, overseeing the full lifecycle of Board operations with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment. This includes agenda development, meeting coordination, governance records management, policy oversight, compliance-related filings, and executive-level communications.
The role also provides oversight for:
✔️ Board of Visitors
✔️ Office of Internal Auditing
✔️ Cemetery Operations
Clemson seeks a collaborative and detail-oriented leader with:
