The University of Maryland, College Park (UMD) invites nominations and applications for the position of Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion (VP-DI). This position reports to the President. The VP-DI will serve as a member of the President’s cabinet and work with the Senior Vice President and Provost, the Provost’s Council of Deans, and other senior leaders to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment. As the lead diversity spokesperson, the VP-DI will work with faculty, staff, students, and external constituents to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion as core institutional values.  The VP-DI will provide oversight and leadership of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. ODI encourages and supports the efforts of units throughout the University to achieve their diversity and inclusion goals.  ODI coordinates activities and programs, as well as inclusion and diversity initiatives on campus and beyond. UMD invests approximately $22 million dollars yearly in diversity, equity and inclusion.
