The University of Toledo is seeking a visionary leader to serve as associate vice president for marketing and communications (AVP). The AVP serves as senior communications and marketing adviser to senior administrators; shapes and articulates an administrative voice for strategic initiatives and crisis communications; leads national, regional and local earned media relationship building efforts; provides strategic direction for internal and external communications and marketing efforts via print, digital, video and social media mediums; leads media, social media and communications team members (30%). The AVP leads efforts to protect and promote the brand and sub-brands of the University and all of its entities; provides strategic counsel to senior leaders on brand-related marketing efforts; oversees the development and implementation of integrated strategic marketing plans; leads marketing, web and graphic design teams (30%). The AVP directs and provides counsel and guidance for managers, directors and executive leadership on how to proactively and reactively work with media outlets and other stakeholder audiences in a way that puts the University in its best light and promotes the objectives of the University (20%). In addition, the AVP administers the University communications and marketing budget for the University and UTMC; manages director-level University communications and marketing staff.
